Mallard 2800C
The large-animal anesthesia ventilator the world is measured against.
Over a million horses, ventilated. Four decades of refinement on the operating table - from equine hospitals to zoos, racetracks to military programs around the world.
A team behind every machine. Lifetime technical support, direct from the people who engineered it. One call, one team, for as long as you own it.
The industry standard. Used by the top 25 veterinary schools in the US, and 22 worldwide. The machine generations of vets have trained on.

Mallard 2800C
Built for the breath that can't be missed.
The world's most reliable large animal ventilator. Engineered for the long surgery, the loud barn, the longest day.

FAIL-SAFE ARCHITECTURE
Built so no single failure stops the breath.
Three independent layers - pneumatic, mechanical, and electronic. None relying on the others to work.
Pneumatic manual inspiration. Push-button inspiration straight from the oxygen / air supply. Works without power or software.
Three independent alarms. Failure to cycle, low gas pressure, and power loss — each signaling with light and sound.
Only for the electric version.
Mechanical overpressure governor. A field-adjustable 80 cm H₂O cap, set by hand for each case.
PRECISION VENTILATION
Precision you control by hand. Values you read at a glance.
Microprocessor control. Physical knobs. A clear LCD. Every adjustment deliberate. Every reading immediate.
Microprocessor-based control. Precise ventilation with the simplicity of dedicated physical knobs.
Large, easy-to-read LCD. Allows very fine control and display of inspiratory times, respiration rates, and I:E ratios.
The full clinical range. Inspiratory time 0.1–3 sec Flow 10–650 LPM · Pressure 10–70 cm H₂O.

18-LITER ASCENDING BELLOWS
Easier to breathe. Obvious when something's wrong.
An 18L ascending bellows - sized for equine, bovine, and large zoological patients - that reduces breathing effort and visibly collapses the moment a circuit leak occurs.
Less work for the lungs. Ascending orientation reduces resistance - easier on the lungs through long procedures.
Visible leak detection. A leak makes the bellows collapse and fail to refill. Faster to spot than any alarm.
Manual breath, on demand A dedicated pneumatic push-button delivers an inspiration the moment you need one.

MRI-COMPATABLE · OPTIONAL
The only large-animal ventilator that runs on air alone.
Every Mallard comes in a fully pneumatic version with no electronics and no ferrous metal. It goes right into the room, stays close to your patient, and breathes for them through the entire scan. Tested at 3 Tesla.

PRECISION VENTILATION
Quiet enough to think over, strong enough to count on.
Extremely quite & smooth in operation
The Mallards are some of the quietest anesthesia ventilator on the market - tested at just 61 dB on the small animal system and 66 dB on the large animal system, about the level of a normal conversation. The quiet, smooth operation reduces stress in the surgical environment, so your team can communicate clearly and focus on the patient, not the machine.
Rolls to the patient. Locks for the procedure.
On its portable chassis with locking casters, the Mallards moves easily between prep, surgery, and imaging - then locks firmly in place for the duration of the procedure. When the patient can't come to you, from an equine recovery stall to a zoo holding area, the machine goes where it's needed.
No disassembly required for cleaning
The bellows clean in place - no teardown, no removed parts, no service visit. Routine cleaning and maintenance can be handled in-facility by your own qualified techs, which means less downtime and a machine that stays in service, procedure after procedure.

One ventilator.
Every patient. Every room.
Durability and loyalty
Buy it once.
Trust it for a career.
For an equine hospital or teaching program, this is a once-in-a-career purchase — and it's built to earn that. Many Mallards built in the 1990s are still in service today and over a working life it costs the least to own.
